Conservation... an important conversation.
Last year we took big steps to improve our conservation efforts. We've joined Project Aware,certified as a GREEN FINS dive center, took part in our first "Dive Against Debris", have stopped using single use plastic at the resort and the Rimba Conservation Crew have opened a Turtle Hatchery which released over 1600 baby turtles in 2017! Conservation Club (our educational kids club) has been a huge hit and has raised almost RM 20,000 for our Turtle Hatchery! A HUGE thank you to all of you, our guests, for your support.
#STOPTHESTRAW
2016 was the last year for straws at Rimba, 2017 was the year for ending all single use plastic at the resort...we have banned the bottle, stopped the straw and have also got rid of the little plastic pots of butter, jam and honey in the restaurant. This year we ran our first ever Clean & Green weekend with our guests - clearing over 100 bags of rubbish from the local beaches and our house reef. Next up: Coral planting and composting! Stay tuned!
#BANTHEBOTTLE
It has been over two years since we stopped selling plastic bottles reducing our plastic waste by 2000 plastic bottles per MONTH. To date that equates to over 48,00 plastic bottles. We hope our guests continue this practice when at home and traveling elsewhere. Every little helps!
#TURTLES
RCC buy the eggs from our local egg collectors and relocate them to the hatchery where they hatch approximately two months later. Last year our guests sponsored a total of 32 nests contributing RM 19,200 to the project. So far in 2018 we have 15 nest sponsored in less than 4 months.

This is a subsidised shuttle service for all our guests.
The tide changes daily, our shuttle times are set depending on the tide. When you book with us we will confirm transfer times.
Where possible it will be 7.30am and 6.30pm.
