Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort - Kota Kinabalu
Please note that in Malaysia, traffic drives on the left and that it will take approximately 45 minutes from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) to Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort.

At the airport’s exit, turn left.

Stay on the left lane.

Follow the road until you reach the traffic junction.

Keep on going straight. You will then pass a commercial township called KK Times Square.

Continue heading straight towards the city centre and cross over all the traffic junctions.

Keep on going straight at the same time keeping on the left lane until you reach Jesselton Point, a popular tourist spot as you will have to make a slight turn to your right where you will meet a roundabout.

Turn left at this roundabout and keep on going straight. Here, you will pass the Kota Kinabalu Port Authority and it is here that you will drive pass a long stretch of sea known as Tanjung Lipat.

Keep on going straight where you will meet 2 roundabouts (take the 12 o'clock). On the second, you will be able to see a huge white mosque known as the State Mosque on the right of the roundabout.

Keep on going straight and the mosque will be on your right while doing so. You will still be able to enjoy the sea view at this point.

Here, you will drive across one bridge and see a cylindrical glass building on your left and also another roundabout. At the roundabout, take the turn to the right (3 o'clock) where you will pass a Shell petrol station with a McDonald's drive-thru.

After the petrol station, you will meet another roundabout (take the 12 o’clock) where you will keep on going straight. You will see buildings on your left:
(i) Universiti Malaysia Sabah
(ii) 1Borneo Hypermall

After going straight for approximately 10 minutes, you will meet another set of traffic light and it is here that you will turn left. You will see a housing estate on the right.

Keep going straight until you meet another roundabout where you will take a right turn (3 o'clock) at the roundabout. After this roundabout, you will pass the Politeknik Kota Kinabalu on your left.

Keep going straight until you meet with yet another roundabout. At this roundabout, you will take a left turn (9 o’clock) where you will keep going straight for another 15 to 20 minutes until you reach Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort. Before reaching the resort, you will pass several landmarks to guide you which is:
(i) Wooden stalls on the left and right of the road selling coconuts (kelapa bakar)
(ii) Salut Seafood Restaurant
(iii) Gayang Seafood Restaurant
(iv) A 100 meter bridge where you will be able to see Mount Kinabalu on the right of the bridge on a clear day.

After passing the bridge, it will then take about another 5 minutes to reach the junction to Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort which will be on your left.
