Bus & Coaches - KL Buses

Please be aware that although we have listed the time schedules and pricing for the coaches, it is best for you to contact the bus companies directly for the most updated time schedules and ticket prices. Due to the fuel hikes and the government's directive to maintain the ticket prices, many bus companies have reduced their frequencies to save cost

KL Bus Terminals

From Kuala Lumpur, there are a number of bus terminals that serve all national coaches. The addresses are as follows.

Hentian Puduraya

Main Bus Terminal, Kuala Lumpur

Coaches arriving and leaving from all parts of Malaysia

Situated : Jalan Pudu. Walking distance from KL Chinatown. Can't miss it - if you do, the touts will surely find you anyway.

Nearest LRT Station: Pudu Station on Ampang LRT line. Check this website for schedule:www.putralrt.com.my

Dangers/Annoyances:

1. Taxis picking up customers, often charge an exhorbitant sum - sometimes refusing to run the taxi meter but instead negotiate on rates. The taxi rate hits sky high after midnite.

2. There has been many cases of snatch thieves, targetting foreigners in particular. Be careful especially when waiting for night coaches.

3. Touts! always touts!

Hentian Putra, Kuala Lumpur

Mainly catering to East Coast Malaysia - Terengganu, Kelantan etc

Situated: Jalan Putra. Directly opposite Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC)

Nearest LRT Station: PWTC Station on Star LRT line. Check this website for schedule:www.putralrt.com.my

Dangers/Annoyances:

1. Getting taxis can be a problem for late arrivals or early arrivals.

Hentian Duta, Kuala Lumpur

Mainly catering to Northern States. The main coach company here is Transnasional Coach Services. Many of the other operators, are still stationed at Puduraya Bus Terminal

Situated: Jalan Duta. Right Next to the Hockey Stadium and Duta Tennis Courts.

Nearest LRT Station: none. Best way is to take a taxi. Alternatively, you can wait at the Jukebox Shoe Shop at Puduraya for the Intrakota Bus that goes to Hentian Putra for about RM1.20. However, the Bus Schedule is pretty erratic so waiting is a pre-requisite.

Dangers/Annoyances:

1. The inaccessibility. Apart from taxis, and the occassional bus - it is a distance from town

Pekeliling Bus Station, Kuala Lumpur

Mainly going off to the Eastern states including Kuantan & Jerantut.

Situated: Jalan Pekeliling.

Nearest LRT Station: Titiwangsa Station on Monorail www.klmonorail.com.my

Dangers/Annoyances:

1. Nothing major to write about
