Hotel/Trip Description

Kinabatangan Jungle Camp is truly Jungle. It is not uncommon to see bearded pig, monitor lizards, malay palm civet cat, squirrel and storm's stork near the camp site. At times Borneo Pygmy Elephants do make surprise visit. The Camp is built within 57 acres of private land. The journey overland takes about 2 hours from Sandakan

River Cruise along Kinabatangan River, Video Show, Guided Nature Trail behind the lodge, Restaurant serves Authentic Malaysian food, soft drink, juices, beer and wine, Electric Fencing to prevent elephants from waking you up at night, Electricity, Clean & hot water toilets

Things to Bring

Checklist Attire

Light cotton long sleeve and short sleeve tshirts, shorts and long pants (Whites, greys, browns and earthy coloured clothing to blend into the jungle), swimwear, underwear, long socks, raincoat or poncho, one pair of sandals or flip flops (the cheapest you can buy) for easy walking ; one pair of shoes with good grip(trainers for jogging, tennis, sporty types) for jungle treks . Do not wear tevas or open sandals for trekking. This will expose you to leech attacks especially on ground level , towel, toilet paper, soap / facial wash, shampoo, toothbrush / toothpaste, comb, reading material

Essentials to get you through

personal medication, mosquito repellent, sunblock lotion, heat rub for muscles ache, flashlights, anti-histamine ointment or pills If you are an avid hobbyist ~ camera and batteries, video cameras, bird book, binoculars

Day 1 - Welcome to Kinabatangan Jungle Camp (KJC)

Pick up from Hotel/Airport/Sepilok in Sandakan at 8am-9am. Travel overland to the Village of Bilit in the Lower Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary. Travel time about 2 hours. Upon arrival at the Village of Bilit, take a 20 minutes boat ride to Kinabatangan Jungle Camp (KJC). Check into room.

The guide will brief the guests on the activity in the afternoon. Lunch at 1.30pm. At 4pm the 1st boat cruise starts: cruising along the Kinabatangan River searching for Primates....Proboscis Monkeys, Macques, Return to lodge by 6pm.Time to refresh. Dinner at 7.30pm.

After Dinner guest is at leisure.

Day 2 - Explore the Nature & Wildlife

Early morning cruise to Kinabatangan famous OX-Bow lake at 6.30am until 8.30am. This morning boat cruise is good for many birdlife like Hornbills, colourful Kingfishers and also a chance to search for wild Orang Utan.Time for breakfast: two eggs and toast, coffee or tea.

After breakfast and at 10am a guided jungle walk which is relatively easy as the trail is only about 1km. Lunch as usual at 1.30pm. At 4pm the 3rd and final cruise of the tour hopefully to see more wildlife that have not been seen yet. Return to Lodge by 6pm. Dinner at 7.30pm.

Day 3 - Transfer back to Sandakan/ Check Out

There won't be any more boat cruise and Guests can sleep in. Breakfast from 8am. Check out time is at 10am for return journey to Sandakan.
