This small nature resort began as a simple retreat from the city for our family. In 1984, Helen put an ad in the Malay Mail to purchase a rural lot. Walking through a rubber smallholding in Negeri Sembilan, she looked out to the Mantin hills and fell in love.
The trail which starts from Pasir Pandak and ends at Pantai Kerachut is about 2 hours of leisure walking on undulating terrain. The basic trails route is as follows. First take a boat from the park HQ to Kuala Berar and then trek for 2-3hours to reach Camp 5. From RM1,590..The Crocker Range was renamed Taman Banjaran Crocker (Crocker Range Park) in 1996 and is now managed by Sabah Parks. The salt trail is a 34km long trail used by people of Tambunan in the olden days for trade. The countrymen used to exchange their produce for salt. Hence, it’s called ‘The Salt Trail’. This trail starts from Kg Tikolod, Tambunan to Inobong, Penampang. The highest point is at 1320m and the lowest at 220m.
The Kawang Forest Reserve is 1, 551 hectares (3,832.5 acres) of second class (Domestic) forest reserve. The reserve is situated in Kawang; about 23 kilometers from Kota Kinabalu.
