Tioman Dive Resort & Leisure Diving at B&J Dive Centre - Pulau Tioman, Pahang
B&J is organising daily leisure dive trips to the different dive sites around Salang Bay and ABC Beach, which are located at the northern tip of Tioman Island. We have two large wooden dive boats, which offer you all the comfort you need as a diver.
They have two large wooden boats plus a speedboat, which offer you all the comfort you need as a diver (incl. fresh water and toilet - except for speedboat). Diving groups are always kept small with an average of 4 divers per guide.
The day starts usually around 9am when we meet at B&J dive centres to get your diving equipment organized. After a free tea or coffee we had out to some of the best dive sites Tioman has to offer. The first couple of divers are always conducted in the vicinity of famous Coral Island whereas the third dive of the day is at a site closer to the coastline of Tioman.
After the 1st guided dive we provide you with some local lunch on our boat. Lunch break is usually near Coral Island where you get an opportunity to get a good sun tan, to go snorkelling or simply to chat with the other divers on board. The 2nd dive site is shallower then the first and therefore gives us up to an hour dive time. After 2 dives from the boat we return back to our dive centres. You have then the option for a 3rd boat dive, an afternoon beach dive or a night dive.
B&J is proud to have a 100% safety record and ensure this by providing you with regularly maintained equipment and small groups of maximum 6 divers per guide.
Dive Equipment rental, guide, lunch and refreshments are all included in our diving rates. Note that you can get up to 20% discount if you bring your own dive gear.
History of B&J Dive Centre
B&J was established in 1986 as “Ben’s Diving Centre” and was run by our chairman Pak Karim and his sons Ben and Mark. As the business began to expand, Jean-Claude (aka JC) became a new partner and the name was changed to B&J (Ben and JC).
Martin, our Marketing/Sales Director bought over JC’s shares in 2003 and our company and reputation continued to thrive.
Today we are one of the largest dive centres in Malaysia and as a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre, we offer all courses from beginner to instructor level.
Between 2010 and 2014 we built and expanded our beautiful Tioman Dive Resort to offer our divers some of the nicest rooms in the whole of Tioman.
We place high value on protecting our environment and are a a GoEco operator, GreenFins Member and Project AWARE award winner. We take care of our ocean environment through regular clean up activities plus have a strict no glove and no touch policy.
Our facilities are fully equipped with the best dive equipment available on the market (primarily Scubapro), which is serviced on a regular basis. The Bauer compressors provide the purest air available (we’re the only dive centre in Malaysia that’s Bauer Pure Air Certified) and we’re also the only dive centre on Tioman that provides Nitrox, Oxygen and Helium tank fills. Both our shops have a well-stocked retail section including PADI educational material, dive gear, t-shirts, accessories and tec diving equipment.\
Our dive centre in ABC has a swimming pool, which makes the first step into scuba diving a bit easier for beginners. We’re also operating the B&J Beach Bar for you to relax after a happy day of diving.
Children’s Scuba Diving
With their natural curiosity and affinity to learn new skills, children can make some of the best scuba divers. If you need more information, here’s a quick overview of the programs available to young people and what age kids can learn to scuba dive.

B&J and Project AWARE
Since 2012, B&J has vowed to be 100% AWARE which means that we put the ocean protection at the heart or our business and pledge a donation to Project AWARE for every single student who gets certified for any PADI Course. The student will automatically receive a Project AWARE certification card.
Why Be 100% AWARE?
Project AWARE needs our support to secure the conservation of our marine environment. They are raising awareness and implementing legal changes through global initiatives to ban shark finning and to reduce the impact of marine debris. They also support activities on a local level such as the installation of mooring buoys to prevent anchor damage to reefs and encouraging Project AWARE conservation events.
We hold the same values as Project AWARE and it’s for this reason that we support their cause so strongly.
For those interested in taking their learning and involvement to the next level, take the Project AWARE Specialty Course to learn more about our global underwater ecosystems
