Facilities & Activities Tanjung Piai also known as "The Southernmost Tip of Mainland Asia". It is named after this ferm locally known as "Paku Piai". It is a type of fern that can live in saline conditions. Tanjung Piai State Park wetland consists of coastal mangroves and intertidal mudflats, it is home to many species of mangrove plants and species of animal. It covers 526 hectares of Mangroves and another 400 hectares of inter tidal mudflats. Mudflats are soft and muddy soil. It forms the only mangrove corridor that connects Pulau Kukup and the Sungai Pulai wetlands. Pulau Kukup National Parks is a mangrove island located at about 1km offshore from the south-western region of the state of Johor-Malaysia. It is a small mangrove island surrounded by mudflats. It also has the biodiversity attractions as it contains 50% of the world true mangrove species. It is home to 12 species of fauna and 76 species of birds.
