Built on a 17-acre site, next to a scenic man-made lake, the village boasts seven ethnic houses representative of the Malay, the Chinese, the Penan and the longhouses of the Bidayuh, Iban, Orang Ulu and the Melanau. Authentically built and replete with traditional crafts, tools, utensils and artifacts the village has been dubbed as the âliving museumâ of Sarawak. Browse around the village and observe the inhabitants of the various houses display their skills in making traditional handicrafts such as beading, wood-carving, bamboo-carving, pua-weaving, etc. You can also view traditional methods of making sago, crushing sugar cane and how the Penans make blow-pipes and other hunting instruments. The Sunday Market comes alive beginning Saturday afternoon till the afternoon of the next day. The market is so huge to walk to every corner of this market. It is divided into many sections such as food, fruits, vegetables, seafood, potted plants, jungle produce, pets, bundle clothing, magazines and everything you can think of. The market is like a huge hypermarket, without air-conditioning. Some word of advice, wear shoes when you are entering fish and chicken areas. Still donât forget to bargain. Transaction is in Malaysian Ringgit. Then we head for the Fairy Caves where you should be ready for a good workout climbing the stairs. After that we will adjourn to the Wind Caves for a late picnic lunch and some relaxation by the stream. Proceed at leisure back to or even drop into Bau town for a look see before getting ready for dinner back at . Day 4 â After breakfast, free at leisure until your departure transfer to the airport. |

Located just 40minutes away from Kuching, The Kebun started as a plan for a retirement home and eventually evolved into a working farm dedicated to rearing goats amongst other fine feathered flocks and furry beings. Adrianâs Bungalow was put up after being disassembled from the movie set of The Sleeping Dictionery. Oliviaâs was only put up only two years later when it was taken out of storage, also disassembled from the same movie set.
Sandwiched between the Kubah National Park and Sungai Rayu and very near to the Matang Wildlife Center, it is fully fenced in with running water and electricity both of which were installed only 4 years ago. Prior to that the farm depended on stored rain water and a generating set.
The first goat house was built after discovering that the idea of using goats to keep the grass short ended up with them having a good feed wrecking havoc on all the ornamental plants and flowers. That was the start of the love affair with goats 8 years ago. Today there are 4 blocks and 3 paddocks divided and run a flock of assorted breeds.
Today the farm has started to help with foundation stock for fellow farmers and also help import breeding stock from Australia of which also include sheep. New farmers sometimes drop in to the farm for help in general as our management experience is quite extensive although mostly learned through trial and error. Many of them have also secured their starter breeding stock mostly derived from our farm born kids.
