Arrive Kota Kinabalu airport and transfer to your hotel for overnight stay

An early morning start on a 2½ hours journey past Dusun villages, paddy fields and palm oil plantations to the land of the last longhouses in Kudat. We will visit the largest open market of Sabah called 'Tamu' in Kota Belud if your tour falls on a Sunday. After lunch at Sikuati town, set off for the Tip of Borneo where the South China Sea meets the Sulu Sea. Proceed to a tranquil beach for swimming before we depart to Kg. Tinangol for our overnight guesthouse. Enjoy fresh coconut drink and witness cultural activities while mingling with the friendly local folks and children. Enjoy a traditional-style dinner followed by a colourful cultural performance by the local Rungus community. Overnight in Longhouse. Mattress and mosquito net are provided.  (B/L/D)

Wake up to the calls of roosters and enjoy the tranquility of the village. Take your local breakfast before we trek to the nearby rubber estate. Test your skill at rubber tapping. Drive to Sandakan via Pitas bypass with lunch en route. Overnight in a resort near the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. (B/L/D)

Transfer to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre for a video show. Trek ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden plank walks to witness the feeding of the orang utans at 1000hrs. Continue to Sandakan jetty for 2½ hours boat journey to the multi awards winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah's longest river, Kinabatangan with opportunity to view birds and wildlife in virgin mangrove, wetland and rainforest habitats. Late afternoon take a river cruise using electric motor in search of some of the 10 primate species. Sukau is home to Borneo pygmy elephants, orang utans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of hornbill in Borneo. Return for solar heated hot shower, candle light dinner overlooking the riverbank and slide show conducted by naturalist guide. Overnight at the award winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge, named by National Geographic Adventure magazine in 2009 as one of the top 50 jungle lodges in the world. (B/L/D)

Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. A 0600hrs morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed for an educational tour on the Hornbill Boardwalk located behind the lodge with our in-house naturalist.  You also have the option to participate in our Kinabatangan Wildlife Corridor Regeneration Programme (KWICORP) by planting trees on our 65 acres adopted land. In the afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife. After dinner an optional night safari cruise (at a surcharge) spotting nocturnal animals, crocodiles and birds. An approximately 4 hours drive with lunch en route will take us to Tawau, at the south-east of Sabah. Continue journey to Tawau Hills Park and trek 2 km through pristine tropical rainforest to witness the tallest tropical yellow Seraya tree (Shorea Faguetiana) at 88.32 meter high. Overnight stay at a hotel in Tawau. (B/L/D)

Drive 4 hours to Maliau Basin, known as the ‘Lost World of Sabah’. Trek up to Maliau Basin Skybridge, at 400 metres long and suspended 22 metres from the ground to see treetop canopies. After dinner, proceed to watch video show at Maliau Basin Study Centre gallery. Join a night walk to spot nocturnal wildlife. Overnight in Twin Bedded room. (B/L/D)

After breakfast, drive 40 minutes to Agathis Camp for approximately 3 hours to explore the lush green surroundings which also feature the giant Agathis trees (good physical fitness required for this trek). Enjoy picnic lunch before we return to Study Centre. Join a night drive to search for more nocturnal wildlife after dinner. Overnight in Twin Bedded room. (B/L/D)

Return to Kota Kinabalu on a 6-hour journey via Maliau-Keningau-Kota Kinabalu route. Overnight in hotel. (B/L)
